abilities have been achieved. Job Description: The Arizona State
University (ASU) School of Social Work (SSW) Practicum Education
Coordinator works as part of a team to provide support services to
social work students seeking internship placement,
develop/coordinate new practicum specialist and new practicum
specialist Senior mentoring/training and provide quality assurance
tasks. This position provide support to the Practicum Manager,
staff and BSW/MSW students in their Practicum education program
located in Metropolitan Phoenix, Tucson, Yuma, BSW, and MSW Online.
The Practicum Education Coordinator is involved in assuring that
internship placement information is accurately reflected on the
department’s data management systems and in multi-media, assists
with training efforts, and provides direct services to students
regarding field concerns and problem resolution. This position also
supports the School’s program objectives, policies and procedures.
This position is based at the Phoenix Downtown campus and on-site
work will be required. Salary: $55,825 per year Essential Duties:
Carries a caseload of students to assist in securing and attaining
internship on either the BSW/MSW levels. Develop, coordinate,
conduct and mentor new Practicum Coordinator on the job Training.
Attend faculty/community meetings on behalf of Practicum Manager.
Represent Practicum Team for SWG 540 to provide and ensure
practicum information is current/updated. Lead on various
workgroups and projects for system improvements. Carries a liaison
caseload as directed by administration. Develop, coordinate and
participate in class/online presentation regarding practicum
requirements. Conduct quality assurance/audits on liaison grade
sheets/Sonia. Develop/review/track quality assurance reports, i.e.,
incomplete grades, placements, Student Placement Agreements (SPA)
expiration/assignments, caseload monitoring/assignments, and
student documents. Participate in specialized areas of practicum
team, such as Sonia Super User, Medical Placements, School
Placements Tribal/CWEP liaison role, etc. Coordinates and
administers student support to enrolled and prospective students in
person and online, such as student orientation, and Preparation for
Practice Training, Learning Contract Workshops. Provides and
maintains Practicum Office’s presentations on such areas as:
Learning Contracts; How to Secure an Internship; and Resolving
Problems in the Internship – Advocating for Self; Liaison and
Instructor Canvas Training. Meet with students individually and as
needed Provides technical guidance within the scope of student’s
academic standing and specialization. Provides administration and
program activities and services for the students in a social work
degree program; interprets program procedures, policies, goals and
objectives; provides technical guidance, mediation and problem
resolution, as needed. Identifies target groups in community to
expand Practicum placement opportunities within the scope of
specializations. Coordinates and collaborates with other ASU
Colleges on non-standard Student Placement Agreements, i.e., Edson
College of Nursing, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, etc. Initiate
and complete Student Placement Agreements on behalf of assigned
students or assigned by practicum manager. Initiates, develops and
sustains strong positive relations with community service agencies
for the promotion of Practicum Education. Recruitments/visits
agencies for the Practicum Education Program. Implements, monitors,
and evaluates practicum process, agency connections, affiliation
agreements, and student engagement. Meets with students who are
interested in the profession. Attends events at Community Colleges
or other ASU Campuses. Identifies target groups in community and
online to expand Practicum placement opportunities within the scope
of specializations. Initiates, develops and sustains strong
positive relations with community service agencies for the
promotion of Practicum Education. Participates as assigned in
faculty committees to represent needs of practicum education in
curriculum and update committee members on events/issues/changes in
practicum. Authorizes any changes of placement necessary for
students in collaboration with the student, Practicum Liaison,
current Practicum Instructor, and Practicum Manager. Oversee
specific content in practicum materials, policies or programming.
Supports Faculty/Community Practicum Liaisons with linkages between
the agencies and the School during the problem mediation process
and referrals to the Committee on Academic and Professional
Standards for students. Maintains student records on database,
creates and provides reports; provides contact point for enrolled
and prospective student information. Participates in data entry and
analysis for data management system, updates pod casts and
navigation videos. Serves on faculty committees as assigned.
Assists with accreditation review and developing and facilitating
workshops, meetings and seminars for students and faculty. Attends
and participates in staff meetings, professional development
seminars and other student support related meetings. Implements
curriculum goals and objectives as established by faculty;
recommends new or revised program policies, goals and objectives.
Serves as liaison with community organizations, practicum
instructors, students, faculty, staff, and administration in
facilitating program objectives. Oversee specific content in
Practicum materials, policies or programming. Desired
Qualifications: Evidence of a Master's of Social Work from an
accredited university Evidence of at least 2 year post graduate
experience Experience working with multi-media sources and students
in an academic environment Demonstrated knowledge of the School of
Social Work’s academic requirements Demonstrated knowledge of
Practicum Education policies and requirements Experience with Adobe
presenter and related media Experience with website development and
monitoring Experience working with YouTube related media for pod
casts Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory practices and problem
resolution Experience in working independently Experience in
meeting project timelines Evidence of effective verbal and written
communication skills Experience in analyzing complex problems
Experience in creating and updating website pages, including copy
and loading images to websites Working Environment: Activities are
performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject
to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a
computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and
walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending,
reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular
activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may
include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to
clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform
