About this role:
Wells Fargo's Financial Crimes and Regulatory Operations Technology
Team is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineer with experience
using OpenShift and Kubernetes container technologies. The team is
responsible for delivering platforms, services, and solutions to
enhance effectiveness and efficiency in Financial Crimes and
Regulatory Operations across the enterprise.

This role will focus on driving modernization and innovation, with
an emphasis on cloud-native solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Provide technical expertise in microservice and container-based
solutions, leveraging domain-driven design and development-driven
testing.
- Lead and inspire the team to effectively deliver and transform
solutions, partnering with business stakeholders to gather
requirements, define strategies, and prioritize work for
next-generation solutions.
- Achieve modernization milestones aligned with hosting, cloud,
and modernization roadmaps.
- Support a culture of diversity, curiosity, problem-solving, and
openness.
- Support complex engineering initiatives with broad
impact.
- Resolve challenging coding, testing, and platform
issues.
- Design solutions to increase resiliency, operational
efficiency, and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate effectively with support and platform engineering
teams.
- Enforce modern design principles, standards, and best practices
for large-scale technology solutions.
- Leverage industry best practices and emerging technologies to
lead and influence teams.
- Identify opportunities to optimize resource utilization and
improve processes while reducing costs.
- Consult with technical experts and external groups to resolve
complex issues.
- Work in a distributed team to develop innovative cloud-centric
solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience or
equivalent, demonstrated through work, training, military service,
or education.
- 5+ years' experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes or similar
enterprise service-oriented design, development, and
implementation.
- 5+ years in building, deploying, and scaling solutions using
Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, VertX, Reactive programming, or
similar.
- 3+ years with modern Cloud Platforms & DevOps tools such as
AWS, Azure, GCP, Jenkins, GitLab, or Tekton.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience deploying cloud-native services, using Operator SDK,
Helm charts, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Service Mesh, and migrating apps
from CloudFoundry to OpenShift/Kubernetes.
- 5+ years in scalable solutions development using Java, .NET, or
similar.
- 3+ years in Agile, CI/CD, DevOps practices with tools like
Jenkins, GitLab, Tekton.
- 3+ years with monitoring and observability tools such as
Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, New Relic, Elastic,
OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid
infrastructure.
- Proven experience designing and delivering cloud-native,
microservices solutions for large financial or regulated
sectors.
- Knowledge of Financial Crimes Operations such as AML, Fraud,
KYC.
- Cloud certification.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating
technical solutions to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, matrix
environment with a focus on delivery and risk management.
- Experience implementing risk and control requirements for
cloud-native solutions.

Compensation in TX, NC, and OH ranges from $120,400 to $250,000,
based on experience.
