Senior Software Engineer - Elixir (Environmental Systems) We're looking for an experienced engineer strong skills in Elixir, Phoenix, and LiveView. You should have hands on experience designing technical solutions by collaborating with the product, design and cross functional teams.Join a team that is building the future of Apple's carbon-focused products. The Senior Software Engineer role will directly impact Apple's material and carbon footprint through the development and delivery of exceptional systems and tools. More than purely technical, the role demands enthusiasm for grappling with complex details & scientific data sets, flexibility to quickly adapt in a shifting regulatory environment, and the fortitude to forge a path in a nascent field. The position is highly collaborative and works closely with Product Design, Manufacturing, Operations, Logistics, Marketing, and Policy to implement solutions that empower teams to accelerate the reduction of Apple's Environmental footprint. Description This role requires the skills to build complex web applications, and includes beingresponsible for the entire stack. You'll be applying those skills to environmental systemsthat assist in the acceleration of Apple moving to Carbon Neutral by 2030.In this role you will:--- Plan, shape and build new features by collaborating with users, stakeholders andother team members--- Obsess over the user experience by engaging in deep discussions with the productdesign team--- Write application code using Elixir, Phoenix, LiveView, TailwindCSS, and ModernSQL, with great attention to detail, testing and documentation--- Review code and collaborate on pull requests from your team members--- Constantly learn and improve your own technical skills by reading code,documentation, running experiments and talking to your colleagues--- Use ops tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible and Docker to deploy andmaintain application services--- Support the troubleshooting, mitigation and fixing of production issues involvingour applications, databases, networks and proxies using Cloud Native technologies Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
• 8+ years working experience in a software role building web applications
• Strong skills in Elixir and experience with the BEAM in production
• Extensive experience with SQL databases; preferably PostgreSQL Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Phoenix in production is expected
  • Experience and desire to apply best practices for building reliable software:
  • Desire to deeply understand the technologies you are using by reading
  • documentation, articles, and the source code of the libraries, databases, and
  • operating systems
  • Experience with LiveView is strongly preferred Experience making Product decisions is a plus
  • Experience in a Tech Lead role is a plus
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
