Job Description:
PetSmart, LLC seeks a full-time Senior Data Engineer based in
Phoenix, AZ, responsible for designing, developing, and
implementing, in partnership with product owners, architects, and
lead engineers: Scalable and efficient data pipelines using
cloud-based technologies in Google Cloud Platform; Complex ETL/ELT
processes using PySpark to transform and process data; Data
warehousing/data lake solutions, including schema design, data
modeling, and optimization using Snowflake and Databricks
platforms; and data visualizations and dashboards using
technologies including Tableau, ThoughtSpot, PowerBI, and
MicroStrategy to support business intelligence and analytics. The
position is also responsible for collaborating with Data Scientists
and analysts to understand their data needs and deliver
high-quality data solutions; applying basic machine learning
concepts to support advanced data processing and analytics;
ensuring data security, compliance, and governance in all data
engineering processes; leading technical reviews, provide guidance
to junior engineers, and contributing to the team’s technical
strategy; troubleshooting and resolving complex data-related
issues, ensuring system reliability and performance; and staying
current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data
engineering and cloud computing. This position requires a
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information
Management, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field
and 3 years related experience and 1 year of IT-related experience
in the retail pet supply industry. Must also have 18 months of
demonstrated experience with each of the following: 1) Data
engineering, modeling, and optimization using Snowflake, and
large-scale data processing using SQL; 2) Data warehousing
concepts, including ETL/ELT processes, schema design, data
modeling, and visualizations with following tools: Tableau,
ThoughtSpot, and Power BI; 3) Agile methodologies and JIRA Scrum
tool; and 4) GitHub version control system. Employer will accept
