OverviewAmTrust E&S Insurance Services, a member of the AmTrust group of companies, is seeking an experienced AVP, Underwriting to lead a team of underwriters and assistants in our Contract Binding Division.This role involves overseeing the activities within our E&S Contract Binding division in a designated region. The AVP will supervise underwriters who review, analyze, and price insurance coverage for commercial clients, utilizing claims history, risk characteristics, and company guidelines to tailor coverage. The role also includes developing relationships with wholesale brokers, gathering competitor information, and creating tools to enhance department growth and profitability. A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred. The candidate should be familiar with E&S concepts, practices, and procedures, relying on experience and judgment to meet goals. Leadership and coaching responsibilities include supporting underwriters and managing multiple product lines.Responsibilities

• Manage the E&S Contract Binding and Supported Excess Products while maintaining a personal book of business.
• Develop workflows and implement automation to improve efficiency.
• Establish procedures to increase profitability.
• Audit underwriters to identify challenges, procedural confusion, or training needs.
• Assist underwriters with complex underwriting issues.
• Represent the Underwriting Department with key external contacts.
• Build and nurture relationships with wholesale brokers.
• Train new staff as necessary.Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in wholesale E&S underwriting with established broker relationships.
• Portfolio management skills with a focus on balance, diversification, and emerging trends to ensure long-term profitability.
• Strong knowledge of E&S insurance products, coverages, and underwriting principles.
• Deep understanding of insurance policies, regulations, and industry trends.
• Growth-oriented mindset.
